Pixels that move

Kinetic LED mounts independent display units on linear actuators. Each unit travels forward and back — up to 250 mm on current platforms — in choreography with the video content. The result is an image with real depth, casting real shadows.

Where it works

Retail flagships, lobbies, exhibition stands and stage design. Kinetic surfaces reward audiences who stop and watch; they are less suited to environments where viewers pass quickly.

Depth becomes part of the image.

What to plan for

  1. 01Motion depth: cabinets need clearance behind the wall plane.
  2. 02Sync: motion and video run from one frame-locked timeline.
  3. 03Content: authored in 3D with motion curves, not as flat video.
  4. 04Service: actuators are mechanical — specify access and maintenance intervals.
